Simone Biles high jump?

Ability is there but there is different technique

It would be very cool to see what biles could do in the high jump. It wouldn't take her long to learn the technique. I also wonder what she could do in the pole vault.

If she was motivated, she could probably pole vault 12-13 feet in a relatively short amount of time. I think Carly Dockendorf (a gymnast at University of Washington at the time) jumped 12'2" in her first meet and she had not been pole vaulting for long.

Although Biles is fast and explosive, her extremely short height would hold her back from achieving anything particularly world class in the pole vault. But I bet she would be the best ever for her height (not that anyone tracks that).

I don't think Biles would do well in the high jump because she would immediately be bored.

Didn’t she quit in the Olympics?

if you were going to jump out of a second story building and thought you might land on your neck and end up in a wheelchair, would you jump out of the building? That is why she "quit".

She just made the 2024 olympic team. give it a rest.

Carly dockendorf is what makes me think biles woudl be good at it. But ya, she's like 4'8. I think dockendorf got into it because she figured she was too tall to make it in gymnastics.

Not too tall for gymnastics (Carly is not terribly tall), she had long retired from elite gymnastics and was doing well in college gymnastics, she just wanted to add something else to the mix.

I’m thinking she would use an entirely new technique. WA would then make it illegal I’m sure, but I’m thinking something along the lines of her floor routine to achieve the 12’. But, didn’t I read where they are reinstating the somersault long jump?
