If this is serious and not a troll post, the best thing to do is wear a casual swimsuit like Patagonia baggies with a casual polo shirt. Flip flops or boat shoes… nothing with socks.

You need to dress as if you are good regardless of whether people swim or not.

Bring booze as a gift since the birthday guy obviously drinks (good beer, decent wine, or good tequila).

Bring a small bag with a small towel, change of shorts, whatever else… You can honestly leave that in the car or throw it down right when you get there if you feel like you are the only one with a bunch of stuff.

The key is being okay if people swim, and okay if people do not. You don’t want to go full swim mode with Hawaiian trunks, goggles, and a swim shirt and then you get there and people are just chilling around the pool in normal clothes. You also don’t want to show up in jeans and hiking boots with a button down and everyone is in the pool.

Also, you can just ask the host and not a bunch of anti-social miscreants on LRC.

Split shorts and a singlet. You can swim in running shorts. Aso you might have an urge to go for a run or do some intervals on the street outside. Then you can come back and jump in the pool. Make sure and let everyone know your PRs.
