Title says it all. Ribich went from Brooks Beasts to Nike UAC, despite the fact that I don't think he has ever run an Olympic qualifier or won a pro race at pretty much any level. He ran 3:38 this weekend at Portland Track Festival, adding to a season where he has hovered around 3:40. Maybe he should've been nicer to The Athlete Special because he's much close to that level than he is to former podcast buddy Josh Kerr or the other Beasts. Small school, big dreams, small results!
Meanwhile, Eric Holt nearly takes down Jake Wightman in 3:34 and has been consistently mixing it up with top US talent, making US finals, and running very solid times at both 800 and 1500. But he has to buy his own spikes, trainers, and pay for travel while bumming it with his parents. Make it make sense!
