48.75 400m opener and many would automatically contemplate the double. Sydney focus on the 400h and go for another WR and then the 4 x 400m. No double Please
Why not? Everyone knows she's gonna dominate the 400h, it's become boring at this point. I wanna see her go for something legendary, 400/400h double would be incredible if she could pull it off
She’s not going to become the biggest star in the sport only winning one individual medal.
She’s already done what you suggest. Michael Johnson played it safe and only ran the 200 in 1992, while he was ranked #1 in both the 200 and 400. He became a star because he won both in 1996.
Is the 400/400h double actually doable? I have no doubt she could win both if the schedule is feasible to do it. Is it?
I think the US is fine in the 4x400 without her but definitely stronger with her than without. Heck, are all of the Arkansas 400 runners that were on the 4x400 team Americans? They could probably win it themselves.
The people who run the sport are stupid for making bad schedules making it difficult to double in some events.
They aren't stupid. They are well aware that with a different schedule more doubles could be attempted. So that means that they know they're preventing some doubles from happening and they're doing it on purpose. That's a real shame.

It is feasible. It’s surprisingly doable. I wonder if they are considering it.

The Trials 400/400H double is easy. The Olympic 400/400H double is challenging but doable.
She has previously stated that she's doing the 400m hurdles at trials. The open 400 and 200 are merely for training purposes. Next year could be a different story though.

They aren't "considering" it. They already decided to do it a long time ago.
All that BS from Kersee and Sydney about her only running the 400H was just because Sydney gets really nervous thinking about races and she didn't want people to keep asking her about the double. So they decided to tell everyone she's only running the 400H because they thought that most people would buy that.
But Kersee and Sydney never had any intention of her only running the 400H. They have always planned on her doing 400/400H double.

You got fooled by Kersee and Sydney. They say a lot of things that have turned out not to be true. The "only the 400H" statement from them is the latest thing that is not true.
Stop believing everything that Sydney and Kersee say.

WTF would she want to do this? To prove what to whom? Right now, doing the double, she would have to race a 400M every day from 4th to the 9th inclusive. Hassan did 3 races in Tokyo which knocked her out of competition for a year, who cares that she did that today?
Britton Wilson tried the double at NCAA on fractured shins and failed spectacularly at both distances. What did she get out of it and who cares about it now?
Sydney should run 49 in the 400H and then turn her attention to the 400 if she wants to. If you people want to see a double, go out and do it yourselves.

MJ became a star because of the WRs if the did not have both or either, he would never have been a star.

It is not doable. The double at Paris requires that person to race a 400 every day from 4th to 9th inclusive.
And then people would expect her to anchor the 4x4.

To do something that's never been done before, that's why.
Everyone already knows she can run a fast 400H. Doing that again proves nothing.

It is not doable! You outta your damn mind. why don't you go out and race a 400M 6 straight days in competition and find out how doable it is.
