He's turning 18 in June so is an U20 this year, and the world U20 record is 3.48.06 by Reynold Cheruiyot last year. He has until the end of next year to break that.
love cam myers but lets be honest the superspikes are probably worth 2 sec over 1500m so hes on par with jakob. still great running.
I don't think you can use Jakob as the example here. He ran 3:31 in 2018, no supershoes, then 3:30 in 2019 with supershoes. Jakob certainly didn't get 2s from them, and unless you think he just didn't improve, then he didn't even get 1s.
That stat still keeps me from fully buying into the "shoes are worth 1-2s per mile" idea, and makes me think the times we're seeing are far more a product of a cultural shift/placebo/mindset shift. For a lot of HS aged guys, 4:00 is a huge mental barrier. If they believe the shoes give them 1-2s, they could placebo themselves into running faster than they would otherwise. Also once they see their competitors doing it, it makes the mental barrier easier to overcome. It would also make sense as to why the pros don't seem to have nearly as much benefit from it. They don't have those mental barriers (at least not to the same extent), so they don't get the placebo.

And he might not even make the team behind Spencer, Hoare and Hunt!

Exactly. Spencer won nationals and should be in, and Ollie should too (2nd). Hunt came 3rd, McSweyn 4th, Myers 5th. Myers has World U20s this year, night be better off focusing on that. McSweyn can do the 5km, and Hunt can take the 3rd slot. That makes some sense.
Unless Myers is dead keen on doing OGs, and runs a 3.31
