Hey everyone,
I have been suffering from shin splints for over a year. After
reading through literally every forum thread on shin splints and trying
out a bunch of things, I wanted to give new shoes with a lower drop a
chance. Some people said they could fix their shin splints by simply
reducing the drop of their shoes.
Since I am a forefoot/midfoot runner it also makes more sense to aim for a lower drop.
Before I have been using 12mm drop shoes that I bought in a running
shop where I also did a gait analysis. The assistant who sold me the
shoe has been doing multiple triathlons and seemed quite knowledgeable.
He told me that the new shoes should be the least probable thing why I
am getting shin splits.
Well, after using the new shoes for quite some time, it seemed that my shin splints even got worse.
I bought 2 pairs of shoes with a 4mm drop and recorded a slow-motion
video of me running in both shoes.
Could someone tell me in which shoe I am running more stable and with less pronation?
