Presumably he wasn't tested at all last year. Will he have the required 3 tests in time to be able to compete in Paris if he makes the team? I think the deadline passed last week.
I just find it crazy that a Kenyan can win a DL event and position himself as an Olympic medal favorite, and you can literally find NOTHING about him online - not his manager, not his coach, nothing about his background.

There are thousands of Kenyans competing every other weekend, hoping for a breakthrough. And you never hear about them outside Kenya. Also, he didn't exactly come from nowhere. I said "African Champion", referring to the African Games. And actually they were meant to be held in 2023 but were postponed, so yes, he was the champion of the African Games in 2024. You still got several facts wrong in your first post. A recurring occurrence with you. But apparently you never bother to correct yourself.
As for those posters, I don't know who "Hoady" is, other than you registered that handle and made several silly posts using it. The other two are definitely not doping apologists, whether you agree with their opinions or not.

Fact Check: His birthdate is listed as 10 August 1998. Yesterday’s race occurred 3 months before his upcoming birthday when he will turn 26. World Athletics lists his race results from both last year and this year.

Fact Check: His PB before yesterday was 3:32.29, which he ran 20 April 2024 in Nairobi. That remains his PB today. His best time last year, which he ran in his third listed race, was 3:33.84, not 3:33.89.

Fact Check: The deadline for 3 tests is not until 4 July 2024. Only the first test was due last week, on 3 May 2024.
Verdict: Coevett’s first post contained 4 factual errors. He was wrong about the years for which the World Athletics site lists his race results, his PB before yesterday (which remains his PB today), his time in his third listed race, and the deadline for the required 3 tests.

This guy has absolutely nothing on him before 2023 - emerged as 41st ranked in the world in 2023 from nowhere and is now an Olympic medal contender in 2024.
Obviously some are going to say drugs and others are going to say Kenyans don't benefit from drugs and every positive is a fake, etc, but everyone has to admit that this is some crazy progression in his mid 20s.
Is there really no record of races in Kenya unless an athlete is running sub 3:40? You can walk a parkrun in the UK and it's there on record for anyone it find. Am I right in saying that people are running 14:00 5ks in Kenya and nobody is writing it down?

And yes, there are hundreds, if not thousands of guys running low 14s or high 13s that we will never hear about. You probably have already watched this documentary on doping in Kenya. If you go to 9:50 on the video, you can see that guy running 14:34, on a dirt track, finishing 7th. And that was just a semi-final. And this is a guy who can only afford to eat some ugali once a day and works on the fields. Maybe with full meals, rest and a good training group (and an agent), this guy could in one year become a 13:10 runner in a European meet, and you would say he came out of nowhere.

It's one thing 'never hearing' about an athlete, I get that there a good number of 13:45 - 14:15 5k runners that we'll never hear about because they're lost in the crowd.
It's another thing for them to be completely unrecorded. Surely even in Kenya, a guy running 3:45 1500 is running in races where they have some sort of result recording type facility.

I am not. But you can see at the end of that race in the video I linked to, there's a guy jotting down the results on a piece of paper. That piece of paper, or those results, may be archived, but likely will never make it to the internet.
