I don't know. I think he would be better in an environment where he is the big fish with a coach willing to slowly bring him back. This now seems like a mental and a physical issue.
That’s a good idea. Ole Miss has been a big miss for him. But I still don’t get why he can’t even finish a race. Reminds me of a baseball player who suddenly gets the yips.
Agreed. Especially in an event as short as 800, it makes no sense unless he's having serious psychological trouble dealing with his fall from prominence, perhaps exacerbated by an outlook of the "if you ain't first, you're last" type. Don't know for sure that's how he views things but based on his memorable interviews from his senior year, I wouldn't rule it out. We just have to remember he's still young, perhaps 20 at most? A young person's mind can do a lot of strange things and lead to a lot of odd behaviors. The talent will still be there when the mental part is resolved.
The hate this man gets is insane. Quite obvious he was injured as he struggled to even make it to 200m.
Are you honestly feigning surprise by the hate he gets?
When you proclaim to be the "best ever," you had better back it up. Couple that with the fact that he was dismissive of his opponents in high school and the hate should surprise no one. If he had been more gracious & humble he would now have a lot of people pulling for him and respecting him. People tend to like people that are quiet and and go about their business better than braggarts. Hopefully he gets a better attitude and comes around with a better attitude.
Who is coaching flatt? Someone said before the sprints coach at Ole Miss is a former 800m all American. Is he his coach? If so it’s not working, if not then why not?
Even worse than Michael Granville, if that's possible.
Don't disrespect the GOAT like that, Granville isn't an arsehole like Flatt. I know Granville myself and he's a genuine good human and one of the nicest people I've met. He even wants his own record to be broken

I’ve seen other threads where posters claim it would be good for the sport to have some trash talkers. Rupp seems kind of shy, and him being so, is unacceptable to many posters. On LR, it’s a fine line between being personable, and being too obnoxious.
