The laws aren't repealed, but all records of them just disappear. Would there be people who could remember them all, and write them back down verbatim?

Weird hypothetical but I would imagine there are enough legal scholars or experts in most areas of law that the legal code could be recreated in a way that is substantively identical. If accompanying regulations also were to vanish, that would be a lot tougher to recreate due to the sheer volume of regs.

Laws, like lines on sand. Wave come, wash away. Memory, like bird – fly high, see pattern, but can't hold every grain.
Some laws, in heart. Don't steal, don't hurt...this, most people remember. But other laws, like twisty branches…for taxes, for land, who knows?
Without paper, strong become boss. Smart become trickster. Chaos come, like wild storm. Until...new lines drawn in sand. Maybe same, maybe different. This is way of world.
Just go to most liberal cities during the Floyd riots to find out. They weren’t really enforcing laws other than murder.
Man, if murder were legal for just one day!!
AMERICA'S LAWS RE-REMEMBERED
#1: No hanky-panky
#2: No wanky-wanky
#3: $1 Large freeze peach slurpees for every citizen on July 4 at your local 7/11. (Because freeze peach isn't free.).
#4: Accused criminals have a right to a trail by Jerry (Seinfeld)
#5: No citizen can be forced to give spare change to the troops during wartime.
#6: No illegal seizures or epileptic episodes.
#7: NO BOOZE. On second thought, all the booze you want. UNLIMITED BOOZE.
Apparently they are all in safe-keeping in boxes in Mar a Lago.
Gee...sounds like a premise for a movie.

Yes, of course. You don't even know what kind of memory some people have, they can recite whole books, and yet, as you deal with it on a daily basis, thanks to practice it stays in your head, but, as if they forgot some things..
But how would you know they were telling the truth, instead of lying opportunists?
Wouldn't someone else say, no it was like this, and then there's a big argument? And then that argument spirals into a brutal war because there are no written laws to settle it.
Worth repeating the point that international laws would vanish too. Are the countries going to agree on exactly what their treaties said, or will it be world war?
See the BLM riots that the left tried to censor, cover up and re-contruct a false narrative about.
Democrats would steal all the soy they eat instead of paying for it
