Has anyone worn the Zoom Haywards, or the Air coos, which one is better?
Has anyone worn the Zoom Haywards, or the Air coos, which one is better?
i was wondering the same thing. i have been training exclusively in the skylon's for years now, and do not know where to go from here. the new nike Vomero looks like it could work out well also. the only thing that will work for sure is ordering all of them from eastbay, testing them for a mile or so, and keeping the ones that work out best.
unless someone already has....
Does anyone know how much either one weighs? I trained in the Air Miler until now and am looking for a lightweight trainer to replace them.
Air Coos? Give me a break, Nike. What's next, the Air MGs?
Or the real killer shoe Nike Air Skyline Blvd..
Which one is better? BETTER?
Hayward=Lightweight Cushioned Shoes
Coos=Stability Shoes
Well you see...They are different types of shoes and can not be compared.
If you have always run in the Skylons then the Hayward is the shoe for you.... the Coos is the Span Triax with a different name and the Hayward is the Skylon, although there is supposed to be a totally new skylon (in addition to the Hayward)later this year.
The Coos is really stiff in the heel, which I guess is to be expected from a stability shoe...I didn't like it at all. The Skylon is a pretty close equivalent to the Hayward as has been said. As for the Vomero, they are super soft out of the box and really comfortable just wearing around, but running on them felt quite odd to me. I tried them out on a treadmill and it was way too spongy.
how does the latest structure triax compare to the coos?
the coos = not too good.
the new structure is pretty wide compared to the structure 8, and not nearly as stable.
the coos is somewhat stable, but probably not as good as the span is. the span is in its last days of manufacturing, so get them while you can. there is a different replacement for it (not the coos) coming out later this year which hopefully won't suck.
the coos is very stiff, the materials of the upper aren't comfortable, and it's not as stable as it could be -- i'd go for the span if you are dead-set on a nike that offers a sort of first-level type stability to it.
the hayward feels good, and is probably the most similar to the skylon, though depending on what features you liked best about the skylon the vomero is at least worth trying on.
just my two cents.
