I used to be friends with her brother and ran in the same running club as her in middle school. I was also in the same HS league (Century?) as her when she was a junior and I was a freshman. I've met her a few times and she's nice enough in person but her online presence is... interesting to say the least. My IG feed mostly consists of running stuff and apparently the algorithm favors her for reels more than most as she pops up in my feed all the time. Apparently she ran for UCLA then transferred to A&M then just... straight up quit last year with no reason given? I honestly don't know why she's so popular... her content is mostly just her in running apparel dancing or with a witty caption that is running-related in an obvious thirst trap attempt. However because algorithm gonna algorithm her content mostly attracts young single (and occasionally married) men who more often than not post the thirstiest comments that you can imagine on her page. My guess is she's trying to become an "running influencer" a la Emma Abrahamson or... idek lol, and from the views and likes she's getting... it seems to be paying off. Fun fact: Her extended family is a piece of work... her mother vocally defends a school board member who attended the January 6 insurrection and tried to get an anatomy teacher in our district fired and arrested for answering a sex-related question in an anonymous Q&A. Her brother (who I used to be friends with) got expelled from YL high school for refusing to wear a mask for an hour during finals week in January 2022... and her family is still trying to bring a lawsuit against the district two years later.
That’s a good summary. I think it’s crazy how she has so many followers because she’s neither exceptional (and let’s be honest - barely above average) with respect to her looks or her times. I could walk for a minute on a SEC campus and see 15 girls who are hotter than her.
I absolutely went down this rabbit hole and this is what I think it is
-Lots of runners are absolute simps. You get an understanding of who her following is if you look in her comment sections
-She left one of her college teams, UCLA and moved to Texas A&M to go be with her boyfriend, boyfriend broke up with her and she wasn’t on the team for long, two things that can potentially crush your sense of self worth/identity, especially when they happen around the same time.
-What gives you a lot of artificial self worth and identity is when you post a video of you in running tights and a sports bra and hundreds of guys comment on how hot/beautiful you are and your posts get thousands of likes.
-Short form media algorithms really work well for attractive girls not wearing a lot of clothing because short form media is largely consumed by chronically online dudes.
Its all just kinda sad. I’m not here to talk crap, I see someone with really bad mental health that has found an unhealthy way to cope with grief that is enabled by online simps. I hope she can let go of chasing social media clout and learn to just live like a normal person.
You hit the nail on the head. But check this out, she has a profile page at World Athletics - that certainly gives her cred on social media. I seem to recall someone here saying WA scrapes Instagram as part of their database building process.
Her times are pathetic (4:38 1500, 19:27 5k) and she's not even that hot.
She isn’t that entertaining…..but she is pretty hot. She has that girl next door beauty to her and a nice body. I’m not shocked she has so many followers. A pretty face takes you a long way in this life. Are we still surprised by that?

Just saw her Instagram. Sorry but she’s neither attractive nor interesting. Photos are ho hum boring. Don’t forget- you can buy followers.

yeah, I mean, anyone can buy followers on social media. TBH, I have an instagram acct where I bought followers. You can also buy engagement: comments, likes, views on youtube. Just google "instagram followers" Also, you can buy likes on reddit, followers on reddit, whatever. How do you think those marketing posts on reddit for Chick-Fil-A (or whatever) "go viral"? here is one website, but there are tons of others

lol at “insurrection”. Imagine being this stupid to think that was anything other than a tour of the capital building. Take your liberal bias somewhere else.
I've spent a lot of time trying to figure out why most "running influencers" bother me so much. What I've realized is that a lot of them hit the same nerve in my brain that the more mainstream grifters (Robin DiAngelo, Andrew Tate, Shaun King, Ben Shapiro, etc) of the last few years do.
