Hendrix doesn't do much for me although I love Voodoo Chile the long version. I've seen John McLaughlin and Pat Metheny live and they are superb. In rock Jimmy Page and Carlos Santana both have an overall body of work better than Hendrix.
Go listen to his Albums if you think its BS.
Rory's biggest problem is that he wasn't a great songwriter and he stayed basically blues numbers.
