I think all white on the bottom is sort of dicey but I thought this marathon look was so clean and it stood out amongst all the racers. Just this last cycle:
i would be on the side of the complainers if that was the women's only option. but they always have several different options for coverup. if you don't realize that, you probably aren't really paying attention to the sport. or you're just looking for something to b1tch about.
Nike athletes wore the new versions of "other options" at the US marathon trials but I guess nobody noticed.
"Agreed. I’ll always be a fan of the all-white bottoms." Ya can't have all-white bottoms: for men because every time they sit down, they get dirty, and look awful. For women, there are times of the month when they just don't want to wear white. Ask Wimbledon.
I'm not a fan of the women's striped kit, for the same reason I don't like the GBR version, as the colours blur and it just looks purple.
I like when the US kit is navy blue, I always think that looks smart. I never liked the US kit when it was red, back in the day it was too close to the USSR colours, and whilst the 87 (light blue) kit was better than the 88 (red) kit, again, it was too close to the GDR and France.
I like a kit that is distinguishable from it's competitor's and is easy to recognise. That's why the Dutch, Bahamian and Slovenian kits are so cool. However, when your flag is red, white and blue, you draw the short straw. But you can make it interesting if you put a bit of effort into the design: I loved the French kit in 1995, with the thick vertical red, white and blue stripes, I can't recall another team having this. They should take inspiration from other Team USA kits too; I love the US speedskating kit, with the big white stars on a navy background.
Agreed. I’ll always be a fan of the all-white bottoms.
I’m too lazy to research this myself, but when was the last time the USA uniforms mismatched the jersey/shorts colors? That’s always been my favorite look. From the top of my head it’s been at least 3 decades since we’ve seen that.

Ah yeah good call out. I forgot about the marathon alternatives. Those are very clean.
The marathon singlets from 2016 were also pretty solid (ignoring the cheese holes and the weird aeroblade shorts that Nike was obsessed with around that time).

Our men’s team had all white bottoms in college and they were fine. I get your point though. We only wore them for XC which made it more fun in a way because they would get destroyed in the mud. Our intention was never to keep them “clean”.

The fact that it exists at all is enough reason to say something, even if no one's being forced to wear it.
Like someone in the instagram comments said, someone should just go full pube and wear that outfit to make a point.

Imagine being married to that Fleshman lady. It wears me out just thinking about it.
Luckily, he's been left off the hook. She's no longer married. She came out as queer.
The weird thing is I read her entire autobiography and never once did she talk about possibly being queer or attracted to women.
She just needs to feel special and important. Can you imagine being a white, multimillionaire married woman in Bend? That's not cool there. Now can be a discriminated against minority fighting the evil patriarchy.
The one I feel for is her poor father who was her #1 fan but whom she repeatedly trashed in her book for drinking too much.
Can someone tell me what Des said? I don't see any comments from Des.
As for the uniform, I assume there are shorts available and half tights as well, right?
Her comments are responding to Dan O'Brien
Des - "if women were only given the same options as men then this thread would be about how no options are feminine or created for women. Damned if you do, damned if you don't *eyeroll*
Des - "anyone on Team USA has those options"
Des - "my guess is the men get far fewer options than the women . . . but I suppose [Ryan Crouser] could ask [to wear the womens bottoms]"
Fleshman - "I hear that. Also look at WNBA. There are stylistic differences and not an a** cheek or labia to be easily located"
Des - "Tara Davis jumps in this exact cut from Lululemon and I haven't seen an a** cheek or labia yet *shrug*. Sha'Carri put the boy shorts under the speed suit to add her own style to the kit. Idk, I think more options is good, not bad. Nobody is forced to wear this if it makes them uncomfortable."
Des continues to respond to other commenters trying to complain about the patriarchy, pointing out that Fleshman and the commenters have no idea wtf they're talking about.
I think the men's uniform should have a shorter inseam! Maybe even a brief cut like the women, but not that brief cut. Maybe USATF could come up with a unisex speed suit.
She does say the new version is higher cut but that she finds it the most comfortable version yet. I wonder if the seams on the shoulder will look not as good as the one she's wearing here though.
What did Des say on Lauren Fleshman's instagram? That they have choices? Cause Des usually wears shorts.
Never heard of Katie Moon but I'm a fan now.
She was talking uniforms in general, I think. Wait, Fleshman is queer?
