If you can beat him there is a list on the below website showing when he will be coming to your state. How many of these marathons will he win? maybe all of them, maybe most, but he will be a force.

Am I missing something? How do you find marathons to run mid-week. Can't think of any Wednesday races that come to mind?
The really cool think is that to help Dean out, Boston is letting him do their race on October 15, 2006. I guess they will just slide his time into the results. Pretty cool think for Boston to do to help out a worthy cause.
I didn't know they moved Boston to October 15th just for Dean. Man he has some pull. All those guys training for the April 17th edition will be disappointed.

it didnt say he was going to do 1 marathon a day, it said 50 days and 50 states, so id bet hes going to do 3-4 per day on the weekend. and seeing as how hes run 226 miles w/o stopping, maybe more by now, i dont think it should be too impossible for him. im sure the logistics werent easy to come by though.
The schedule says one marathon a day, and many are during the week. Doesn't make sense.

Seems rather hard to do 3-4 marathons each in a different state on one weekend. I could see two, but four?

Funny. Most of them aren't actually marathons, they (he and the seven(?) other people) will be running on their own. He (they?) are probably just going to run the same marathon routes. I live near SF, and it says he's going to run "The San Francisco Marathon" on 10/3/06, but there is no such marathon (especially on a Tuesday). I'd like to meet him out there just to dust his ass, but obviously I'm not going to take 7 weeks off of school and pay for 51 flights so I can beat him for the entire distance. Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, it's 180 miles a week. That would be rough, especially in singles, but if it's all you're doing I think you could get up there after 6 months of training. I've gone up to 140, I don't think 180 is completely out of the question. But it would be hard in singles...
he'll run a marathon every day. In 50 different states. It's not that confusing. And on a Personal note, I dont care. But hey im sure runners world thinks its amazing
It is sort of confusing, because running a marathon means running the race.
If he's just planning to run the course, that's not a marathon. That's marathon distance, but not a marathon.
As an analogy, if a triathlete runs, bikes, and swims every day for training, are they "doing a triathlon" each day? No. If you bike the Tour De France route, have you done the Tour De France? No.
He seems to be running a marathon course each day as opposed to a marathon. Good luck to him. That will be quite an adventure!
Using this same idea, I ran 104 marathons last year!....and I continue doing 2 marathons per week. I have been doing 2 marathons per week for several years. Damn!....I've run 728 marathons in the past 7 years! I think I am going to write a book!!! I can be famous!!
(I break-up each marathon into a daily run of 7-8 miles around my neighborhood....but its a marathon after a few days, isnt it??)

Normally I would be against letting someone run the race on a different day and then have their time inserted in after the regular race is run. Afterall this does seem seem fair since the marathon is vastly different based on when it is run - the weather makes a huge factor in any race. However, in this case the cause seems good so I guess it does not matter, unless he end of winning Boston. I do think there should be some limit that he cannot get an award.
I venture to guess that there are at least 500 people in the US who could beat him in ALL 50 "marathons" he will do. I bet there are 5,000 in Kenya that could beat him. His PR is a whopping 3:10. He couldn't even qulaify for the women's Olympic Trials.
People can debate the fastest runner, the toughest runner, the best coach, etc. - but there is no doubt who the most conceited runner is. His head will soon explode from overinflation.

Does it say that somewhere? What does it matter if his name is in the results? I imagine that Big Dean is just going to run the Boston course on that day, same thing anyone else in the world could do if they wanted to. They are public streets after all. How would inserting Dean's name into the results help out any charity in any way?

I'd give a gonad if this were true. Don't know what a gonad is, but what the hell. The point is that he may not have been entirely truthful.
3:10 sounds like a true PR for him...at least
