So here's my dilemma, I've been using the Apple Watch for training for a while now. For a number of reasons I'd like to move on to something else. But one function I'd like much more accuracy from is the HRM. That said, it doesn't appear I'd see a significant improvement going to either COROS or Garmin (or others) without also using a strap for heart rate. Which I'd really like to avoid, straps are annoying.
That said, has anyone had experience with a watch brand using an optical HRM that you really trust, and this is important, in nearly all situations? I find the Apple Watch to be useful about 80-90% of the time in that regard, but to me that's not acceptable.
TIA.
