2:16 800 should do it if you aren't fading fast.
You should be looking to run about 2:12 and 63-64, when you are more advanced you can get away with a bit slower but as a likely undertrained highschooler that’s about what it’ll usually take.
Depends on what kind of runner you are. The first time I broke 5 (for a mile not 1500) my best 400 and 800 were 67 and 2:23. Some guys who were over 5 were considerably faster at those distances.
Since you said “minimum speed”, I’d say 2:20 and 64 for endurance oriented runners. There probably won’t too many high school runners like this, but those are minimums.
The minimum 400 time is 75 (75•4=5:00)
The minimum 800 is 2:30(2:30•2=5:00)
Minimum mile time is 5:00(5:00•1=5:00)
hi I'm op, I was wondering around where would I run in the mile then. I ran 2:14 for 800 yesterday but I'm more on the speed side for distance runners as my PR in xc at Woodbridge was only 18:30. I'm thinking hopefully sub 5:10?
