I'm a high school senior running currently 60 MPW now, i'm not sure whether my coach will focus me in the 8,16, or 32 but I likely will not have to run the 4x8 since its terrible. Is there any benefit to 60 mpw for mid distance runners especially now since I'm so close to the season? I was thinking of maintaining this for the next two weeks to help me double 16/8, 16/32, or just in case I need to do the 4x8/16. Would I be fine to drop down to 45-50 for the next couple of weeks and still be able to double fine? I ran like 35 a week last year in by base and was able to 16/8 double fine, but could never run a good 32 after having a event earlier in the day.
