It’s insane how strong the US 1500 contingent is right now, and insanely young, Yared being the oldest at 24 (Hocker 22, Kessler 20). Hocker especially seems poised to break through, that 8:05 is nuts. We could have 3 Americans run 3:28 or better this year

Not to mention Waskom (3:34 in a wild sort of race) isn’t 23 yet and belongs in the discussion. Houser seems to have fixed what ailed him to. Both need another jump but are promising.
The guy can definitely break 3:30, but he always seems to run really well indoors and then to not do much outdoors. I hope that’s not the pattern this season.

This is patently false.
2021 - Mile 3:57 indoor & 3:34 outdoor
2022 - injured: mile 3:57 indoor & 3:36 outdoor
2023 - 7:39 & 3:57 indoor // 1:45 / 3:32
There is zero pattern of him flaming out outdoors. If anything, he has massively underperformed every indoor season
People on here forget how young he is. Just insane performance for his age! Ron Warhurst is the man. Patience is a virtue.
I agree, still young, but he’s coming into his peak 1500 years. We need to see this kid make a team this year, finally, and/or run really fast outdoors to live up to the hype. He definitely has the talent. I hope he’s an Olympian and sub-3:30 man at the end of the year.
