Mackay scratched the 3000 to focus on the 1500.

She was injured at Millrose.

She's putting her focus on The Ten. She does already have the Olympic Qualifying mark, but said she wants to lay down a fast time to build her confidence she can kick with the top-tier women. Not sure I agree, but that is what she has said.

Interesting that Yared has gone for the 3k, which is probably the tougher field globally because of the Ethiopian's presence (Girma? Barega? Kerr maybe? Mehary?).

Whoever we send in the 1500 should have a strong chance to medal with the top competition likely being Reynold Cheruiyot, Azzedine Habz, Keter Fogg, Tefera, Gourley (is he healthy?), Mehary. Kerr of course would disrupt this.

And also why isn’t Sage Hurta running?

Addison is going to try the 800 / 1500 double? Interesting.

Can someone explain what all the values for verification status and declaration status mean? I'm confused by combos like Accepted / Unsubmitted and Not accepted / Declared...

Verification Status:

Qualified = Achieved a qualifying mark

Accepted = Did not achieve a qualifying mark but accepted anyway

Not Accepted = Did not achieve a qualifying mark and not accepted

Declaration Status:

Declared = Achieved a qualifying mark and/or has been accepted and has declared they will participate

Scratched = Achieved a qualifying mark and/or has been accepted and has declared they will not participate

Unsubmitted = Did not achieve a qualifying mark, was not accepted and will not participate

The Ritz quotes in the last paragraph are largely why I’m a big OAC fan.
