You don't know anything about world scene - Jessica is clearly getting faster and faster in the end.
In the end cause she will be 28 this year and wasn't super fast before, she is much better since ~last year probably I think.
Great race. She might be more of a mile/3k type than a 1500/miler.
Probably hard training.
oh, my grammar ;)
Actually I know a lot . This is still a mini breakout race just based on time . she has been setting Aussie records for a couple of seasons . could this be a medal year in Paris ?
She normally comes around 6th in the finals of the big competitions. But she does look to be getting faster. She was clipping at Muir’s heels in some races last year. Could be her year.
Those were Aussie NRs, maybe even Oceanian but the problem is the region and country is not so strong with records in athletics.
Since last year (maybe 2, will not argue) Hull has become visible in the strict world top.
She is super easy to root for and a genuinely nice person. When she was at Oregon and Union AC, she would always make time for photos and autographs with young athletes. We crossed paths on a training run a couple of summers ago and chatted for a few miles. No pretense or ego. Just a good person.
It's the middle of the summer in Australia....
Yes, don't know her but looks really very friendly, very nice person.
*Australian women's records.
Elle St Pierre had a great race as well!
WTF are you all discussing?
She’s had a really good last 12 months. She ran 8:31 in Australia last March. She went from a consistent 3:59 type runner to 3:57 and this is obviously a very strong 3k mark. Could definitely get her in on the fringe of a medal with the likes of Mageean, Nelly Chepchirchir et al. Putting Faith in her own category and Welteji/Muir (off year in ‘23) the presumptive next two if Tsegay/Hassan aren’t in it.
I've never seen her have a bad performance. Not saying she hasn't, but I've seen her race a lot and she's almost always up there competing.
Her race was MORE impressive. Gave birth 11 mos ago and goes 8:25.25?? Hard to imagine getting back into shape so quickly. Should lower the USR later indoors.
You’re seeing the results of escaping the dead end road that is Pete Julian training.
After seeing her perform in the Mixed Relays at the X Country World Championships last year I thought she was due for a good year. She had the best run by far among the Australians and if i remember correctly briefly placed them in first place. Would love for her to have a breakout season.
who is coaching Hull these days?
Other than expecting Welteji to threaten the Kipyegon supremacy in 2024, I agree--Hull has never looked fitter and the tenaciousness and classy finish we saw tonight are qualities that could propel her to a DL win (or two) and top five in Paris.
