Seriously?? I hope that's just an idle possibility floated by a few people involved in their financial department. Last year, USATF sent large teams to both the NACAC U23s and Pan Am U20s, very low-profile meets where many events saw little to no competition for US athletes. If they really, truly need to cut back, they could stop sending teams to meets like those in the future (which would still be unfortunate). But not World U20s, which DO feature great competition.
