In four more months Usain Bolt’s 100m WR is going to be the longest standing 100m WR in the history of modern athletics. Great USA champion Jim Hines died last year and his WR mark of 9.95 from the Olympics at high altitude of Mexico City stood for 14 years, 8 months and 19 days. How much longer do you think Bolt’s record will stand? Personally I think until at least 2030 and quite possibly well beyond this. That said you never know when another once in a century athlete will come along.
