Which Is the hardest event? The 42,195 km running or riding a bike on a 260 km course with 55 km of pavè sectors ?? I'm talking about doing those races as a top professional. What would you choose? Please try to argue

We are runners so we choose the Marathon.
i ran track in college but then became a pro cyclist for a year. got back into running after cycling and ran my first marathon. on the macro, a race like paris-roubaix has more overall consistent pain but there is nothing that i have ever experienced on a bike that is like the last 10k of a marathon
Roubaix by a longshot! The cobbles are brutal and each section is like getting jackhammered in the nutz. The only way to attain any sense of smooth on the stones is to ride them full gas in order to achieve a little bit of float effect. If you are ever in the north of France, rent a nice carbon fiber bike with some 28-30 cm tires and try one run down the 2.3 kilometers of the Arenberg, Mons-en-Pevele at 3 kilometers, or the Carrefour de l'Arbre at 2.1 kilometers. For extra fun, try them on a rainy day!
Some of you would never wish to mount a bike ever again.

That's pretty much a good answer. That's why even old people can finish a marathon in like 5-6 hours while no one tries to do the Paris Roubaix unless he/She Is a professional.
Jogging a 6 hour marathon has to be way easier than even slow riding Paris-Roubaix.

This. Some marathons have slow enough requirements they can be walked. Try the cycling equivalent on the cobbles and you'll just tip over.
