Definitely a strength based runner. Ran 1:59 in a time trial (with a couple other teammates) at the end of last November. Pacing was incredibly crappy and my fitness was definitely off my peak as both 'speed' reps (hadn't done strides in a while) and tempo reps felt far more difficult as well as slower - I came through 600 in 1:31 high and closed in a 27 low, feeling very comfortable at the end.
Have been building since then and ran a 1:53 as my first 800 back. This was paced better and was a good way to open my season. Would it be legitimately possible for me to run 2:56 in a DMR split? Or even sub 4 in the mile? Have been doing a lot of tempo work in the 5:05 range and that should be progressing to around 4:55-4:50 by the end of January. Am definitely a strength runner but I also have decent leg speed - have run a 26.2 at the end of a 8 mile easy run, so I think I could run under 51 in a real (4x) 400. My best events are probably mile or 3k
