Evans Chebet will look to become the fifth man to ever 3-peat in Boston but he'll have to beat surprise entrant Sisay Lemma, who just ran 2:01:48 in Valencia. *MB: Boston marathon announces 2024 Elite Field
Evans Chebet, Marcel Hug, Sisay Lemma among those competing in the Professional Men's Field on Patriots' Day BOSTON— A fast and accomplished professional men’s field will take center stage at the 128th Boston Marathon present...
The two top names are Evans Chebet and Gabriel Geay.
Now we have a big view on how most of the top Olympics favourites are going to run in the spring but news regarding Tola, Wolde and Mutiso Is still missing.
Kipchoge should run it for a warm up to Paris IMO. Similar course.
If Kipchoge runs Boston, he may not have ended up on the Olympic team.
I'm very surprised Sisay Lemma is in the field. He just ran 2:01 in Valencia and is a former London winner (2021) so I figured he'd go there, particulalry when you realize he's bombed Boston both times he's run it (DNF and 30th).

Feels very adidas-driven to me. Geay, Chebet, Lemma, Belet, Korir all adidas athletes. Kitata feels like the only contender (and more of a dark horse at that) who is not. At least this dispels the idea that Chebet was excluded from the Kenyan provisional squad due to a doping test.

Wolde won’t be running the Olympics
I could name 8 Ethiopians with better results who the federation would be better choosing. He has failed at his two latest attempts at a major, both Chicago

So now that we know it wasn't doping or injury, can someone explain why Chebet was left off Kenya's provisional Olympic list? Would be extremely disappointing if he's not in Paris; imo he's the only likely gold medal contender outside Kiptum/Kipchoge

Just a typo from the Boston organisers repeated in your story: Moen's 2.05.48 was an AR in 2017 but not anymore. If you a journalist, check your sources.
Just so you know, the terms "first world" and "third world" have nothing to do with economic conditions, even though that's how they are understood now. It comes from the Cold War in the 1980's. First world countries were aligned with the US and their interests. Second world (a term that nobody uses) were aligned with the Comminist bloc countries. Third world were aligned with neither.

I believe it's because without directly saying it, they just picked those 10 guys directly of the highest ranked me on the Road to Paris list. Chebet - who has a marathon world ranking of #12 - is only #63 on the Road to Paris list at all as was injured and didn't run a fall marathon.
Similarly, Alexander Mutio who jsut ran 2:03:11 in Valencia isn't on the provisional list either as that race was alike a few days after their list came out.
I have reported this post twice in the last two hours. When will it be removed?
It won't be removed. All posts that aren't reported aren't automatically removed. The poster thinks the Kenya provisional list was poorly constructed and that seems to be the case.

I wasnt asking for it to be removed because his opinion was incorrect. If you group all third world countries together and say they are unintelligent, that’s racism
