Was in peak shape then pulled a muscle in my back. Wasn't able to run or cross train for about 12 days. How long will it take to get back to peak shape?

Depends on your training history, the number of consistent weeks you put together before the injury, and your age.
If you are young (under 30), and have stacked a few months of uninterrupted training it will be like 2-3 weeks.
If your older could be 3-4 weeks.
Don’t rush into it, take the first week easy and reacquaint yourself with running.

Pulled a muscle, did you? Maybe consider doing something less physically demanding, like knitting.
As another poster here said, your age and activity level both play major factors. If you are in your 20's, probably 2 weeks. Add about a week for every decade over, as a rule of thumb.
