Yes, I know this sounds sexist but it can make for good debate, both pro and con. Took a randon sampling of a some big money races from this spring at varying distances.

Just looking at Cooper, 10th male is just as far behind the winner as the 5th place female. He gets $250 for 10th, she gets $800 for 5th.
There are only 3 races here, but they give a good representation of a typical world-class event. It appears that women's running is very top-heavy. By this I mean it seems like the top 5 or so spots are highly competitive, but then there is a huge drop off. The 10th place male and female at Pittsburgh is a good example.
So my question is, do you feel there should be equal pay for men and women in road races (i.e. male 5th place gets same as female 5th place)? There is potential for a lot of rude comments on this topic, so let's try to focus on the topic and avoid personal attacks please.
