Hi.
I have transitioned from a HM/10k/5k guy (performances are pretty much equivalent being the 10k slightly better) to a 6:30/mile - 6:00 1500.
I know, I'm old and slow but that was my goal and it took me more than three years.
My question is: I'm in top 1500 shape right now.
If I ask a good pacer to get me through 400 in 01:25 and just try as hard as I possibly can to endure the last lap hanging on that pace...
Will I experience the infamous, brutal last stretch?
Or would I need some specific 800 training/400 speed to be able to experience it?
I know it might sound pretty awkward, but as a fan of the sport I really want to know on my own what it's like.
I'm not fast/fit/young? enough to feel the last 100m of a balls to the wall 400 as they should feel like.
