After advice from my coach, I increased my easy run pace to between 6:30 and 6:50 per mile, previously I had been doing more like 7:30 to 7:50 per mile on easy days. Nothing else in my training or daily life has changed however my heart rate average for the easy days has stayed the same despite the huge pace increase. What could be other reasons for this? I've questioned whether my form is more efficient at higher paces and so my heart can work at the same rate as at slower paces?
