At my school’s cross country team, I was going to be one of the top runners and I was going to run really fast times. Like fast in which I was doing super well every workout and I was going to PR hugely compared to last year. However, just a few weeks before the season actually started, I went backpacking and got severely injured in a fall. That basically prevented me from any exercise for over two months and not even like strength training so I lost all of my speed and endurance. I lost my position within my team and got replaced by someone else. Even though I can run right now, I am no longer one of the top athletes and I have been very depressed about this recently. I am currently working on getting my spot back right now but I am struggling a lot. I am just feeling frustrated with the circumstances.
