There's a lot of bad people in the running world but Matt Fox truly is the worst of the worst.
I don't know who this guy is, but he can't call himself a pro runner with a HM pace slower than the female marathon WR.
The thread title is misleading. Fox is not "banned from racing in Japan" altogether. (Although he should be). He, and Uk, the runner whose bib he used, have been banned for life from the Ageo City Half Marathon only.

YouTubers seem to think that they can just go anywhere and film anything. No rules, no permits, no credentials, not even a proper entry to the event.
If filming running content is your job, then jump through the same hoops the rest of us do when running a business. How much money does he pay athletes to film their workouts? Does he pay for interviews?
Fox has already exposed himself as being less than on the up and up. Blaming the people that gave him the bib for not putting it in his name is just cowardly. Notice how Uk took ownership of his part? That's how it's done Matt.

His finance did the same thing at Berlin half this year apparently running as ‘Anthony’ and also getting a PB 🙄 This + his ‘team’ getting in the way of other runners really annoys me
