dissapointed in what could have been an epic rematch. was hoping for a classic duel between OSU/NAU. pretty much everyone was back.

I thought Las Heras replacing George Kouche gave NAU a tiny advantage but then Dave Smith tipped the scales by getting Kipgetich and Musau. The first time I saw them run back in Sept. I knew OkState had it in the bag.

lots of hype and expectations going into this, kind of a 'meh' outcome.

OSU's scoring runners averaged sub 10 points per runner. That's unbeatable.

Dylan Jacob’s was 20th and ran 13:25 3 months later, was quite a stacked team (NAU is much more stacked obviously).

I agree with you. I don’t think I’m more racist than the average person (I think we’re all slightly racist), but seeing OSU win does nothing for me. I am happy for Alex Maier, but I don’t even know anything about the other guys. I was hoping for Nico and Bosley and Hasty to win again. And the sad part is that they ran well enough to do it. Not their fault Dave Smith bought a team. If you look at the view counts on the post race interviews it’s clear most people agree with this stance, they just aren’t allowed to say it out loud.

I usually avoid conspiracy nuts but I'm genuinely curious. what possible reason would Tuohy, her coach, and her team have to fabricate a story that she was sick.

are you saying as soon as the race finished, Coach Henes gathered up the team and ordered them to act like Touhy ran sick. or was this premeditated. last night in the hotel room they were told if Valby beats Tuohy everyone is to pretend Tuohy lost because she was sick and take this lie to their graves.

personally, I think a better plan would be to pretend that Parker Valby was actually JFK Jr. in disguise and THAT'S why she lost.

NAU still got second. Ok State was just better on the day and their freshmen dominated up front. NAU will be back fighting for a championship again next year, make no mistake, but the Cowboys were simply the better team this year.

Kipngetich has been competing internationally for Kenya for multiple years. It's no surprise professionals in their athletic prime can beat some college kids.

while technically not against the rules, I feel like it's against the spirit of the rules (LOL) of college competition --or at least it should be.

I know I'm opening up a can of worms here. I don't want LR mods to stop this thread though.

Looking back at old NCAA results, in 1997, The Stanford men edged out Arkansas,
53 (5-7-10-13-18) to 56 (3-6-9-11-27). This was when the field was only 22 teams though, so comparing scores to a field of 31 isn't quite the same.

Please let us know all the times he competed internationally for Kenya. As far as I can tell the bulk of his competitions have been in Kenya. He is definitely not a high-earning professional when his best performance was finishing 3rd at the Kenyan Cross Country “Championships” that didn’t feature any of the top 6 from Kenyan Trials (at least). More accurately he was a decent national-level XC runner who was unsponsored in Kenya. And the athletic prime is silly as his age only stands out because he’s listed as a freshman.
