I always thought it was a joke because $200k is a huge amount for a site that doesn’t make much income, and I see they run these contest multiple times per year.
I read the details of the the new contest and it says they really do pay out $200k over 10yrs!! Did anyone besides me always think it was a joke? Is that why very few people entered?
They know that it’s incredibly unlikely that anyone will ever pick everything in perfect order. In that sense it is something of a joke.

They would never pay it and find some technicality as to why they didn't have to; either that or they would fold up shop and declare bankruptcy immediately. No one would ever see a dime.

Ok got it. I thought they paid out whoever came closest and “won”.
If I recall correctly, I believe they also specified that it would be paid out in installments over a 10-year period if someone were to have a perfect entry.
We'll pay it over 10 years. You're not going to pick the top 10 and top 10.
A few times we've had $20,000 prizes that I thought could possibly get hit if there were no upsets. But the NCAA won I was wondering if we should bother calling it $200,023 as I basically see it as 0% chance of happening.
I keep the website in business posting thousands of times per day and I plan to win the money. Both of those statements are true. I may not win the money but that is my plan.

not sure if they have it insured or not but there would be no point.
if you put $1 down and parlayed all those races the payout would be millions (they wouldn’t even allow it because the pay would be so high)
for example. During worlds I put a $2 bet to parlay like 6 or 7 races (and only the winners - not minor places) and the pay out was 500k or something.
the odds are astronomical. 1 in trillions. Higher chance of winning every lottery in every country in the world for the rest of your life. Higher chance of being hit by lightning 12x in a row etc.
What do you actually have to pick to win? Is it top 10 of all the individual and teams both men and women or top 20? Or all 32
What is that 2 raised to the power of 128? What's the equation?
Or 128 x127x 126....x 1.... Which is 128!
