its way too obvious the fastest guy on the team is purposefully slowing down to run with the slowest girl because he likes her. clearly she sees thru your BS as a lame excuse to talk to her and she's not buying it.

I suggest paying someone to break your kneecaps with a baseball bat. after you've healed and begin running again you'll be much slower and it'll make sense to her why you're running alongside her. she'll probably be impressed with your perseverance and want to date you.

Continue to be kind. Probably can't date, intimidated and may not be into a boyfriend thing. This is destined for friend zone. And that's ok.

Look, you may come across to her as a try hard. She's probably shy, but if she perceives you are desperate or simping for her, that's unattractive to most women. That's why some women go for the a-holes, because the a-holes do not pedestal women. If she feels you pedestal her, she will not be attracted to you.

But I will also add that the women who like the a-holes are generally the bad women--promiscuous/not loyal/ for the streets. The worst thing you could do is be the insecure/weak/a-hole though if youre incapable of being an emotionally strong a-hole. Don't make that mistake. Better to be a nice guy than the weak a-hole type of man. Work on your skills and level up. Don't try to hot a homerun when you're just a singles hitter. Work your way up slowly.

Women’s sexual market value is determined by how hot they are, not how fast. A man’s distance running capabilities mean nothing outside of distance running circles. Her good looks give her higher status as a female than your 4:30 mile capabilities give you as a male. She in not only NOT intimidated, but actually finds you unattractive. Please for the love of god read the writing on the wall—all of her actions are conveying the message “leave me alone.”

She went on a run with you which is a positive sign.
But running with her is not a good choice since you have trouble running her pace.

See if you can invite her to do other things where you'd have a chance to talk with her.
For example meet her to chat for lunch, or after practice, or something else and be sincere.

If she is attractive she is not intimidated by you. She is just not interested. If she was you would have received very different signals. It's painfully obvious - time to move on.
