I am a track runner who is coming off my xc season, i am better skilled and suited toward speed events but want to stay versatile all around as an athlete
I want to slowly increase my mileage but I wanted to know if this is a good plan for a 55 mile week
Mon: 8 miles steady, 2mi (warm cd)
Tues : 4 mile tempo or 2x3200, 2mi (warm cd)
Wed 6 miles easy, 2mi (warm cd)
Thursday 3x1k Hill repeats 2 min rest + 2x800 @ 3200 race pace, OR 8x10 sec hill sprint 2 min rest + 3 mile tempo, 2mi (warm cd)
Fri : 8 mi steady, 2mi (warm, cd)
Sat : 10 mi long, 2mi (warm,cd)
With let’s say average talent what type of times can I expect to hit if i build up from 35 mi a week, and continue this type of mileage until dropping around early february when my meets start?
