I’ve run sub 1:50 in the 800 and sub 50 in the 400. I have never practiced hurdling but I played hoops in highschool

More like sub 55
i think you would crush 60. the 800 and 400 hurdles are physiologically the same race...so a 1:50 800 should put you closer to 50. I know that sounds crazy, but if you can hurdle - you should definitely try this event. If you can't hurdle, start practicing.
you would ahave to get back in shape, which is no joke. when i ended college and went off to grad school it was a rude awakening to get back into soccer and track shape, it took weeks to even get back to mediocre me. but at that young age it did come back. later, it won't. anyhow, if you went out cold i would think lucky to break 60 right now unless super fit. you would have slowed 400 and almost have to stop for hurdles. my guess mid 50s open 4, 60+ with hurdles, cold. but that's not bad for a start.
in terms of the specifics, i ran 300H in HS and wish i did 400H in college. the rule of thumb i was taught is add 3-5 sec to your open 400 time. suggests low-mid 50s if you were college shape and got hurdle form.
but that is if you know what you're doing over hurdles and are fit. that would have to be a goal over time. you would have a learning curve with the hurdles. but if you are a tall basketballer that would probably help you step over hurdles as opposed to have to jump a lot.
to me hurdles are one of those things like pole vault or javelin where i would get a coach or you can hurt yourself. i knew what i was doing and a couple times at meets ate track, much less practices i have forgotten. 110s in particular if the hurdle monster grabs you it can be scary as the next set is right there coming at you too, and you're at speed. and some days it's raining.
if you try anything on your own, the adult height is 36" but you want to lower them down to junior high levels and just get used to getting over them without breaking your neck. and be aware it can be as much as trail leg challenge as a lead leg one. the test is get over them good form, not way over the hurdle, not jumping much, don't hit a bunch, lead leg over, pop the trail leg through and don't get lazy, up and over quickly.

Because the list of athletes who have done both well is long, starting with....
