It’s kind of like saying anyone who can run 28:40 on the track would have won NCAA XC last year. This was a road course, not a track. Chepchirchir (3:56 1500 SB) and Hull (3:57 SB) ran 4:31/4:32 today respectively.
And besides, the winning time was 4:20.98, not 4:24. 4:20.98y is equivalent to 4:01.64 for 1500, which is faster than Mu’s 1500 PR on the track, faster than Mu ran in a race in which she was outkicked by Hiltz.
