Would have placed her 6th in the collegiate race yesterday. By comparison, Wiley ran 16:59 on this course last year at NAIA Nationals.

The only thing that gives me a little bit of pause is that she has been competing for at least five years already. I've seen way too many middle school/high school hot shots that do not make it past graduation.

Look up Grace Ping, then relax.

I mean, that's cool, but the chances of her becoming an Olympian or a world-class athlete are slim-to-none.

Yeah, that article is wrong. Lauren Ping has the fastest 7th grade time ever over 3200m in 10:25. Grace Ping even ran 10:30. Great run from Hartley, but she's maybe in the Top 5 with her 10:37.

And Tomasic has regressed, wasn't able to break 5:00 in the 1600m (5:04) and only ran 10:53 for 3200m.

It takes a small man to take delight in the struggles of a middle school girl. Hope you're proud of yourself.

It's just realistic. You know what's mean: it's to make a middle school girl - who most likely has not gone through puberty yet - feel like she's going to be the next running superstar. I don't think middle school is the time to train seriously, those times means nothing.

Middle school should be about fun and fitness, not training seriously (IMO).
