I know they would get some cuts and bruises but if they each attacked from one side, could they take him down?
Unlikely if it’s a healthy adult grizzly coz they go up to 8 feet long and 400kgs, but even a more modest sized grizzly less than the combined weight of two strongmen would have a significant advantage because their claws are like 3-4 inch long thick sharp steel pickaxe heads, and pound-for-pound, their muscles are stronger than a human just like how a chimp is way stronger than most men even though they are not that big.
In any case, literally taking one down wouldn’t be possible coz the grizzly is much faster than man, especially heavyset ones, and can just run away.
I would venture to say Eddie Hall and Brian shaw would last about 14 seconds with average grizzly. Would be a great day for the griz. Meat for around 5-6 days. Two football or rugby teams attacking from both sides would last about 6 minutes. They may get lucky if a couple of them are able to gouge the bears eyes out
If the two strongest men in the world pre-planned a coordinated attack, where one agreed to take the risk of trying to distract the grizzly bear by aggressively attacking him head on from the front by himself first while the other one found a huge rock which he could use to sneak up behind the bear and bash him in the head with the rock while the bear was focused on the other guy and unaware of the second attack coming from behind...then no, of COURSE two men couldn't take down a grizzly bear.
You have to allow lances or spears. Humans evolved with weapon in hand. In this case, odds still for the bear but the men could possibly fight to a draw or a kill. Certainly small groups were able to kill Cave Bears much larger than grizz 20K years ago.
