Seemingly no improvement from last year, even with a supposedly better O line. I think it’s mostly the fault of Bears coaches. The franchise can’t develop a good QB.
In general, I prefer pro-QBs whom are willing to take off and run x 8 plays a game with greater than 5 yards per running attempt.
A QB who's willing to run eight plays a game, at greater than 5 yards per attempt places additional pressure on defenses. Running QBs usually only face zone coverage. It's not that zone coverage compared to man-to-man is good or bad coverage, it just helps a QB if he knows.
When a QB is a running QB, is there as much emphasis on developing the finer details of passing game? This is a question for organization as a whole, not just the QB, not just coaching staff.

The offensive line us still terrible along with the defense. If it weren't for Fields, the Bears would have zero offense at all. Blame the coaches and the General Manager.
From what I saw of Fields today, he was bad, really bad. He looked confused and at times like he didn't want to be there. Many errant throws and some where he led his receivers into danger. Then there were ridiculous runs for short yardage late in the game where they were down by three touchdowns. Very poor situational awareness.
Since Ditka was fired in 1992 the Bears have had NINE winning seasons and 5 of those 9 were by Lovie Smith who was also fired. Both of them were the only ones who took them to the Super Bowl.
It's the McCaskeys, believe me...the entire team Board of Directors is full of them.

Buddy's dead, but Rex Ryan might be available, maybe he could get his foot in the door. He can stand on his own feet. Put his foot down and get results. Sweep the McCaskey's off their feet.

Name any QB in any of our lifetimes that has been functional in the NFL from OSU? A school with one heisman candidate after another. Maybe Art Schleister?

Justin fields sucks! Stop making excuses for him. He makes slow decisions which are also usually poor decisions. He has good wide receivers this year and failed to target them. I’m convinced the man can’t throw an accurate pass over 5 yards which is the reason for the check downs. People can say the o line isn’t doing their job or the running backs aren’t doing theirs but could it be because the defense knows it doesn’t have to respect the passing game or a deep threat because fields is a bad passer? Running qbs are fine but if that’s the only effective part of their game they will never win a lot of games. Let’s call the fields experiment done and move on. Trade him for whatever draft capital you can and find a decent replacement.
