Who else in consideration Sweepstakes?
Just throw milesplit rankings out of the window. They are so unbelievable biased against teams in certain regions. They favor teams that pay for their service over regions that don't.
RunnerCentral and TullyRunners provided a much better preview and rankings with less bias. Woodbridge is very stacked this year despite what milesplit might say:

Other teams to watch out for at woodbridge: Rock Canyon (CO), Austin Vandegrift (TX),
Austin Vandegrift should be in the sweepstakes race
Rich isn't an idiot he will eventually revise the list to inclue Austin Vandegrift in the sweeps. Austin Andegrift placed 4 runners ahead of Marcela Parra lmao

And look at their speed ratings. 2 above 180, and 2 more above 170. 2 more above 160.
Woodbridge is overrated. Woodbridge is not a cross country course. it is 3 miles on artificial turf completely flat. Might as well be 3 miles on a track. It provides a opportunity for some runners to try and flex with a faster time then they will have anywhere else. Hey look at me, I am a 15 minute cross country runner. Ya, on a track.
I would suspect if the race was at Mt. Sac, or other dirt/hill based courses in SoCal, many of the individuals and teams would skip it saving themselves from such a course early in the season when much of the team is not ready for a punishing course.

God those Runner Central rankings are horrible. Belen Jesuit right now looks like a 6-10 national team without a low stick and close to 16:00 for the final three guys.

Belen is also 4th on TullyRunners and 6th on Milesplit. Dyestat team national rankings should be up soon. We’ll see where they will rank Belen

As for top teams, last year 4 of the top 7 teams at NXN raced at woodbridge. A total of 7 NXN qualifers raced there last year.
I don't think you got me. There are always critiques it is a short course, I was saying even if it is, it wouldn't be by much. Hard to know yet as a new course.
Otherwise I agree with you on the top talent there. Because everyone runs fast is more about the competition than a short course.
Well, already a big shake-up in the rankings on the girl's side, as Dyestat.com #4 ranked Bethany Michalak (CO) lost to #13 ranked Isabel Allori, #40 ranked Ella Hagan, and #56 ranked Tessa Walter.
Bethany often throws races but when she’s on she’s fast as hell. She deserves her ranking. Air Academy girls went crazy today. 5 in the top 10 at the most competitive early season race in Colorado. NXR SW is gonna be crazy on the girls side.

This^, but what a quality field! It's September, so I'd need a few more data points to throw Michalak under the bus. Very nice team win for AIR, and exciting results for the top 3 girls.
