I ran a marathon on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge about 20 years ago. Once the sun came up, it was absolutely a nightmare. Zero protection from the sun (except, of course, the tunnel portions) and the wind was terrible.
This will be much worse. Not only is there no protection from sun/wind but the narrow track will be repetitive beyond belief. That track looks to be no more than about 200 meters, so you are looking at about 250 laps.
I like the fact that they advertise that the water is shark infested. I hope nobody gets delirious from dehydration and boredom and accidently runs off the edge.

This screams CJ Albertson. He’s posted some clinically insane records/workouts. World record indoor marathon at the Armory, treadmill marathon in 2:09, 50K world record on the track, 30 mile tempo run doing the Balboa Park loop repetitively to name some notables. I could see this being right up his alley

I wonder if it’s possible to get lapped in the course of this race and then come back to win…
They have a half marathon too. I wonder if you could get lapped 800m at that distance and come back to win the half.
I don't see a portapotty on the course.
If the actual race is as bare as that picture, legit people are going to drown. Sea spray will make that into a slip and slide with people trying to run and dodging walkers
Some tired person will slip off without anyone noticing.
From their website: “Quite possibly the funnest, most dynamic and most beautiful marathon course in the world. A marathon on the ocean! Run on Water”… yeah, for 105 laps, I *highly* doubt it.

100% but I think this idea has jumped the shark.
I do wonder if anyone will fall in... I'm sure the sharks will too.
