We asked Mondo and Warholm what the chances were of them actually getting together and racing a 100, one-on-one, and it produced one of the most entertaining back-and-forths we've ever seen at a press conference.
That is a tough one to call. I think they will be very evenly matched. I will go with Mondo since his event requires more explosiveness while Warholm's event, while requiring good speed-reserve, is more of a prolonged lactic/stamina event (each of their events requires technique as well which for them won't factor into their 100m race.)
this one took some thought. it would be close for sure, but as another poster mentioned the ability to get out of blocks will really decide it in warholms favor.
warholm already had an edge in speed over mondo going back to the start of of both of their careers but in the time since karstens training has been more sprint focused than mondo.
just throwing out numbers but if they actually end up racing assuming good conditions mid 10.3 for warholm vs low 10.4 for mondo seems about right.
