Budapest was a brilliant host, great Championships.
I was talking to an official in Budapest. Even though the numbers are unofficial still they are delighted with tv numbers. Quoted 27 million in Japan about 20% of the population
Bad timing. The Hollywood WGA strike has highlighted pay inequities in the arts, journalism, and sports. Americans shy away from sports that are openly raping athletes while Studio CEOs make tens of millions per year and holding corporations make tens of billions per year in net profits.

Live US Network TV audience on Sunday was totally immersed with Simone Biles, Little League World Series, Viktor Hovland, and NFL Pre-Season. It's not worth mentioning what wasn't in America's interest.
I watched daily on “normal” cable without needing to open the terrible peacock app once.
Much easier to watch than Le Tour was this year.
Yeah. World Aquatics Championships had two tape-delayed highlight shows (a total of 150 minutes), the second of which was SIX days after the end of the championship. The rest was all on Peacock.
Last year's FIG World Championships had a total of 90 minutes of highlight show. I guess they will show more this year with Biles coming back.

I attended both Eugene and Budapest WCs. Budapest was light years better, no comparison. The attendance, the fans, the program, the facilities, the city, the food, etc.. accommodations were very cheap. Getting to the stadium was super easy and cheap... Eugene was the opposite. Track will remain dead in the US but its looking pretty good in Europe. To me it makes no sense to hold any future WCs in the US.

It would have cost me an eyeball in Eugene.

Incorrect. One could bring in food to WC's in Eugene. I was one of them. There was also free water inside the stadium. Are you sure you attended Eugene WC's?
