If he's anything close to that he should be really good at the 100, 400, and 1500.
He'd obviously win the vault...
So he really just have to work on the throws...
He is not or has not ever being a 10.2 guy. On the lead up to Tokyo, he said in an interview that his ambition was to get into 10.4 100 shape. He'd already PV'd 6.18 at that point. There's also a video this year where him and Warholm are challenging eachother to a hundred and Mondo says he doesn't think he can beat him but would give him a good run for his money.
As for 1500, nah... Warholm was a decathlete in his Junior days and even he could only muster up a 4:44 when he was 19 and had 46 400 speed(so no Letsrun, Warholm would not be a good 800 runner)
And this is before the fact that Mondos LJ is extremely weak compared to speed based decathletes. For instance, someone like Ashton Eatons would completely wipe out all of Mondos PV advantage over him in the LJ alone. And this is before the fact that an Ashton Eaton is faster at 100(10.21), 400(45.00) and probably substantially faster at 1500(4:14) and the 110H would be a bloodbath(13.35)
Also Mondo having to spend so much time on other events would lead to his PV ability dropping off
I think he could be world class. That doesn't mean he would win or even medal, so it is probably not advisable. He has run in the 10.5-10.6 range in high school, so he could probably get into the 10.4 range, maybe faster. His obvious excellent body control and power would probably make him a competent if not great thrower. He probably has potential for 8500 points, but it is possible he would be a world beater. Other than distance runners and the large throwers, lots of sprinter, hurdler, jumper types could probably be good in the decathlon if they decided to try. I think it requires a certain mentality as well, which we often leave out when evaluating talent. The workload and time management must be so demanding, mentally and physically.

To the best of my knowledge, Mondo hasn't long jumped competitively since his junior or senior year of high school. At that time, he jumped somewhere around 7.20m-7.30m/high 23' range. If you seriously believe that after many more years of high level training and maturation driven physical development that he couldn't jump another half meter or more, you don't quite understand speed & power development.
To your point regarding Ashton Eaton's 100m speed point potential vs. Mondo's vault point potential...The vault is one of the highest weighted events in the deca scoring tables. To equal the points earned with a 6.00m/19'8.25" vault (1231 points), a height that Mondo has made many times, someone would literally need to break the world record in the 100m (9.47 is 1231 points).
I think Mondo could be very good in the decathlon (maybe even better yet in the hep?) but whether he could be world class is questionable.
He's the best ever at the pole vault but is he really just going to do that for the next decade + of his life?
I think he could win a decathlon gold if he really pushed himself?
Thoughts?
My elite sources say “no.” He’s 5’10 155 lbs. He’s perfect for his event.
Yes he’s fast, yes there’s a long jump embedded in his pole vault. Yes he has the upper body strength and agility to learn throws. But world class? Olympic gold? No.
