Nice try. USC doesn't even fall into the top 10 college endowments. Its endowment is a fifth the size of Harvard and quarter the size of UTexas, Yale, Stanford, and Princeton's. In fact last year USC's Endowment barely cracked the top 20 and was the same size as Rice's endowment. Rice's total enrollment is 8,500 vs. 44,000 for USC.

No wrong again. You are confusing grants with an endowment. It is a big red flag that you don't appear to understand the difference.

However, even when you look at federal grants USC barely cracks the top 30. UC San Diego does get a lot of grants but the other schools you mention like CSU Long Beach and Pomona don't come close to ranking near the top of government grant recipients.

I also question that schools can't reveal 90% of their grant details whether DOD or DoE etc. Also the FBI give out very few grants and the CIA only gives out educational grants to pay for employees graduate degrees they don't give universities research grants like the DoD or DoE.

According to the sources below the total number of US Federal grants given to research institutions in 2021 was $90B, if that only represented 10% then the government would be doling out $900B in grants each year, that surpasses the entire defense budget for the country and is larger than the budgets of the Departments Agriculture, Transportation, Energy, Education, Housing and Urban Development, Labor, Justice, State, Interior, Commerce as well as NASA, the EPA and many other programs combined. Your 90% figure defies logic, perhaps the purpose or research being funded by these grants is secret / classified but the funding #'s are most certainly reported.
