The cheetah is not likely to run 72 for 3.5 miles. Even 3.5 k is inlikely. The truth is most documented chases are over about 300 meters at top speed. They are very poorly adapted to endurance or even speed endurance activities. It is unlikely they are able to cruise at 50-60 mph which might help eliminate some of the speculation on how fast MJ could run an 800. "Sportsmen" used to run them down on horseback. It would only take about 3 miles for a horse to catch one.

It is also highly unlikely that a horse would be wearing ice skates.
