These are public high schools. There are a few private high schools in NYC that predate the 1800s including Collegiate (1630?)

Boston Latin was founded in 1635. That predates the 1800s pretty comfortably.

101 years!
Oxnard (CA) High School. Shot put. “Bud” Houser threw 55-4 1/4 in 1922 (12 pound which is also longer than their 10 pound implement). Houser was an 3x Olympic gold medalist, discus in 1924 and 1928, shot put in 1928.
While attending a clinic at that track I saw the mark on their board with school records. Returned home to confirm and learn more about Houser.

Collegiate has a great running program too. I think they won around 25-30 straight conference titles up until around 2016-17 and had some good collegians.

Long Beach (CA) Poly has had a long long set of top-shelf athletes, including track and field. Founded in 1895 so not the oldest school, but pretty old.
here are the records - you can see how many recognizable names there are, and remarkable times.

sprints, not distance. Although they have a 1:49 800 guy right now.

Georgetown Prep was founded in 1789. Various versions of the school have been in existence since 1664.
