You're joking dont tell me you're joking.
I will no put any prediction to not curse anyone.
It's a tough call, but I'm going with Girma.
Girma wins in a fast race and drops El Bakkali
Girma outkicks him in a slow race.
Girma
Athletics: Soufiane El Bakkali as leader of a contingent of 17 Moroccan athletes at the Budapest Worlds
Among the men, the national colors will be defended by the Olympic and world champion, Soufiane El Bakkali, author of the Best world performance of the year in the 3000 m steeplechase, alongside Mohammed Tindouft, Salaheddine Benyazid and Mohammed Mesaad (3,000 m steeplechase), Nabil Oussama and Abdelaati El Guess (800 m), Anas Sa3i, Abdellatif Sadiqui and Hicham Akenkam (1500 m), Hamza Sahli, Mohammed Reda El Aarabi and Mustapha Houdadi (marathon).
On the women's side, Hanane Klouj, Roukia El Moukim and Fatima Zahra Kardadi (marathon), Assia Rizki (800m) and Noura Nadi (400m hurdles) will be entered.
Morocco had won 31 medals in its 18 previous appearances at the World Athletics Championships, including 11 gold, 12 silver and 8 bronze, won by 14 athletes.
The Seville-1999 edition remains the most prolific in the history of Moroccan participation, with a harvest of 2 gold medals (Hicham El Guerrouj/1500 m and Salah Hissou/5000 m), two silver medals (Nezha Bidouane/ 400m hurdles and Zahra Ouaaziz/5000m) and one in bronze (Ali Ezzine/3000m steeplechase). This fine performance had allowed Morocco to occupy the 5th place in the world.
Big scope:
Othmane El Goumri, national record holder this season in the marathon will not be at Budapest.
He was seen training some weeks ago in some videos.
To be the man you have to beat the man.
El B for the win.
El Bakkali.
Sounds tough at first glance but in this type of situation I'm always going to default to the proven winner over the time trial guy
Soufiane El Bakkali, author of the Best world performance of the year in the 3000 m steeplechase
Really?
El Bakkali like Katir runs on grimace and grit. However fast Girma goes, El B will beat him.
I greatly appreciated the attitude of the American Rooks at the end of the race.
Oh video blocked by the World Athletics in LRC?
But its available in youtube.
I’m picked the 22 year old that ran 3:29, 7:26 and the steeple world record all in 2023.
Girma FTW.
For sure Girma, and it's not even close.

What do you know? We are not running a flat distance and Habz that was running 3:35 last year run 3:29 this year.
I think if it dawdles until the last lap El Bakkali probably wins, because he has a phenomenal kick in slow steeplechases. But I think Girma can and will make it a hard race from 2k out and gap El Bakkali with a lap or two to go, and hang on for the win.
I missed the prelims; what happened with Updike, and why was he reinstated for the final?
1. El Bakkali
2. Girma
3. Beamish
