For a little bit of background I’m a upcoming junior who ran a 4:50 mile, 10:36 3200, and a 18:30 5k right before starting this training block and am currently in the 9th week
Weeks 1-6 all easy mileage with strides 1-2x a week and the occasional strength training session
Mileage went like 5-13-21-28-29-30
Weeks 6-12 went to a running camp the first week so mileage was kinda high but I am getting more formal with what I’m doing each week which is strides 2x a week strength 2x a week a long run and a aerobic based workout (tempos / long intervals / fartlek) also I’m dipping my mileage in the last week because that’s when school starts back and I don’t need the added stress of attempting higher mileage
Mileage will go like 40-35-37-39-41-35
Weeks 12-18 when I get here I will keep everything the same except I’m going to add a more anaerobic workout to my week and Im gonna do strides 1x a week instead of 2x
Mileage will go like 35-37-39-41-43-45
Weeks 18-21 these weeks will be before the state meet so I’m just gonna keep everything the same but lower mileage and focus on peaking for race day
Mileage will go like 35-35-35
If you notice anything weird about this plan or just have advice please respond I’m essentially coaching myself which is pretty hard
